FAQs

What forms of payment do you accept?

At this time, we accept checks, cash and Venmo as forms of payment.

Is Ever Clear Window Cleaners insured?

Yes. We are completely insured. If you need a copy or proof of insurance, we can certainly accommodate your request.

Just let us know, and we will get that to you as soon as possible.

Do you use my outside water spigots?

Yes. Before any work can be done on the property, a working water source will be located and checked to make sure  that it is in proper working condition. This is especially necessary in cases where soft or pressure washing is to be done.

Do I have to be home for the estimate or the job to be done?

That is entirely up to you. While our estimates are always done in person, so we can physically look at and understand the property as much as we can, you do not have to be home or on the premises. While we would love to meet you and start building a trust and business relationship, we understand that you have other responsibilities and frankly, other things that you would rather be doing. We will take care of getting the estimate and information together and then promptly contact you. Rest assured we will take care of our responsibilities, and your property with dignity and care.

What happens if it is raining on the day of my scheduled service?

It really depends on how hard it is raining, how strong of a wind we are having that day, and what services you have scheduled to be done. Typically a call will be made from us to you, in the morning to check in and go over the details of the job(s) that are scheduled for that day. We will check the immediate weather to see how we can proceed. Let’s work together, keep it simple and see what we can arrange so both of us are happy and on the same page.

What do you use in your water to clean my windows?

This seems to be the question that we get asked the most.

It depends on the type of glass we are cleaning and the frames that are built around the glass itself. For the most part our “go-to”, is hot water and Dawn dishwashing soap. If the glass is REALLY dirty, we’ll add some ammonia or some vinegar.

What do you do to work around my pets?

We will work around any pet, or number of pets you may have. In and outside. The only thing we would like to point out is while your pets know and love you, they do not know us or who we are. And they certainly have no idea why we are at your house and on your property. We are pet owners ourselves, and understand why you love your pets. But to keep it simple and benefit all parties involved, if their temperament is in question, we would politely ask if you could secure the pet in a different area of the house or property.

What is soft washing?

Soft washing, as opposed to pressure washing, is a low pressure cleaning process. The pressure in soft washing is like that of a garden hose. So instead of using high pressure to remove any unwanted dirt, growth or debris, a cleaning solution made up of a surfactant, a bleach stable soap, and sodium hypochlorite is used and sprayed onto the structure that needs to be cleaned.

This type of cleaning is much more effective because when it comes into contact with organic matter such as moss, mildew, bacteria, algae, lichen and fungus it actually attacks and denatures the proteins in these type of micro-organisms. So instead of just removing it with pressure you are actually killing, then removing what are called Rhizoids, which are the root like structure (only 1 cell thick) that certain mosses use to absorb water through and attach themselves to something. This kind of service is more like disinfecting the exterior of your house. The house will be cleaner, the colors more vibrant, the surfaces will no longer be slippery and your house will look as close to new as it possibly can.

Why soft wash instead of pressure washing?

Pressure washing certainly has its place, but we feel that it is most effective on hard enough surfaces to withstand very high pressure. On harder surfaces, or very porous surfaces the pressure is a good thing and the water can really get into the small cavities that it needs to, in order to make huge improvements. But soft washing is ALWAYS how we will wash houses and most vertical structures. Soft washing doesn’t carry the risk of breaking or cracking your homes exterior material. No matter if it’s wood, vinyl, stucco or aluminum. We feel and have seen soft washing do, what pressure washing simply can not. And we want this to look outstanding, and give off a great appeal.

Can you wash away all these cobwebs, but not hurt my plants and flowers?

Yes..we can, and no...we will not hurt your plants, flowers or any of your vegetation. Because, before we soft wash any home or structure, we prepare the entire area. Prepping and protecting is crucial when it comes to soft washing. We will first & foremost protect your own organic vegetation. This is imperative because what we use to wash your house will clean it better and remove the bad organics that you don’t want (mold, fungus and bacteria) It also dissolves the spider webs, silk and eggs that are around or on your house as well. But as always, if you have questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to ask. We will always ask if we need anything and certainly so should you.

Do you clean the inside of the sash off my casement windows?

We can certainly clean out the inside or the underneath of your casement (crank-out) windows. Typically it is not part of the usual window clean as we normally clean both interior and exterior sides of glass, then clean and wipe out the bottom sill and track. There is an additional charge for this service as it does involve more time and overall detail. But a quote for this service can be added on and given to you at the same time you are getting your other estimate.

How much should I move or clear away before you arrive?

If you have any items in or around your house that you cannot replace, just know that we cannot either. The easier the access, the safer and easier it will be for us to get to and do the work itself. But with that being said please know that we have no problem helping out with moving items or pieces of furniture to another suitable place for the time we are there doing our work.

When or how often should I clean my windows?

As with any of these questions, it is always up to you. But typically clients have their windows cleaned twice a year. Usually a Spring & Fall cleaning. But we are more than happy to work with you and discuss what your concerns are, or what you think is best. We can set up service according to your schedule and specifications.
